In most cases, Ephraim Michael Law works on a contingency basis. We advance disbursements and costs until there is recovery at which point you pay those costs. If there is no monetary recovery, you pay nothing.
We offer a free, confidential consultation, without obligation. We look at each case individually, assess liability and determine whether we can make a difference to you or your loved ones. We are not a legal factory but a small firm dedicated to providing personalized service. Given our 35 year track record of success we can usually determine the validity of the case and let you know right away.
We cannot make premature monetary promises. However, we can compare the specifics of your case, according to medical documentation, established liability or reached maximum medical recovery, with other similar cases and give you a better idea of the range of your potential recovery. Realize that every case is unique and we will do our utmost to maximize your recovery.
We are licensed in Ontario so it does not matter where you are from if your injury has taken place in Ontario. If you are an Ontario resident and are abroad we can represent you as well.
At Ephraim Michael Law you will speak to a lawyer immediately. We are a “personal” law firm: our phones are answered without delay; your access to a lawyer is direct and the response will be caring and receptive. If you are concerned regarding any aspects of your case at any time and need an update, you will be able to contact us immediately by direct phone or email.
During the course of your case you will most likely have to attend an Examination for Discovery. This is a meeting, under oath, in which you sign a statement verifying the answers you have given to the questions posed by the defendant’s lawyer. At no time are you alone in the examination; your lawyer accompanies you and represents you in the proceedings. The information you provide will be used at trial if a trial is necessary.
Of course! We would never settle your case without your expressed consent. You will be informed of negotiations initiated by either side in the course of the claim and settlement will only be realized with your full understanding, agreement and consent.
